Annual Low Pressure Boiler Inspections:
If you are the owner of a commercial building, mixed use, or six family or greater property in New York's 5 boroughs, you are required to have your low pressure boiler inspected annually. This inspection must be performed and submitted no later than November 15th each year to the NYC Department of Buildings. The building owner is responsible to ensure that this is done, or is subject to fines up to $1,500. This is a requirement regardless if you use gas or oil heat. Triennial Boiler Inspections:
NYC Department of Environmental Protection also requires triennial filing and possible inspection for certain types of burners. Most boilers rated at a 350,000 BTU input and above, except for 1 and 2 family homes, fall within this criteria. As a service to our customers, Marathon Energy can perform and file the registration for original and renewal inspections. Marathon Energy can also file the certificates of operation, which includes on-site meetings with Department of Environmental Protection inspectors.
