Due to mandatory deregulation from the NYS Public Service Commission, utility customers may now choose to purchase their natural gas from ESCO’s (Energy Service Companies) instead of from the utilities themselves. The utilities are even encouraging their customers to purchase gas from others by discounting their delivery charges and eliminating some of the taxes on their bills. In most cases, the customer still receives and pays only one bill (from the utility) – the only difference is that the actual gas is supplied from an ESCO but still delivered by the utility, hence one consolidated bill from the utility.

That’s where we come in. We are licensed marketers of natural gas in New York. This means that we sell discounted natural gas for all National Grid and Con Edison customers. Basically, we are your one-stop shop for all energy products and services.

How will Marathon Energy deliver my natural gas?
Your gas will still be delivered through existing pipelines, utilized and controlled by the local gas company — right up to your burner. We will supply your gas to the utility to deliver to you.

Who will read my meter when I switch to Marathon Energy?
The local utility will continue to read your meter every month and report your gas consumption to us. They will also perform any emergency repairs only to the gas lines. (Marathon Energy will perform equipment repairs.)

How will I be billed for gas?
You will still only receive one gas bill from your utility. You will still only pay one gas bill to the utility. We will get paid directly from the utility. The only difference will be that your cost will be a lower total than if you continued buying your gas from the utility.

Whom do I call if there is a problem?
For meter readings, emergency repairs to gas lines, or gas odors, call your local utility. For heating equipment repairs, or assistance with your gas supply, call Marathon Energy. We’ll give you the prompt, personal attention you deserve.
